Ink It With New Foam Pads!

Personally, I’ve been happy with Stampin’  Up!’s Classic Stampin’ pads….at first, I couldn’t understand why they needed to be upgraded….but now that I’ve used some of them (with a pre-order for demonstrators)…I get it!

With the introduction of the 2012-2013 annual catalog on June 1,  you will see a very big change in the the SU Classic Stampin’ Pads.  The pads are now made from firm foam and they will change your stamping experience…..for the better!

Here are the benefits:

  • Provide better ink coverage for your stamps!

  • Light-tap stamping produces flawless images!

  • Create wonderfully solid images. The Firm Foam releases more ink onto your rubber stamp than the felt pads. When using the Firm Foam pad, your stamp will get an even, solid covering of ink that you may not have been able to achieve with the felt pads. Please note: if you are using the ink pad frequently you may need to re-ink your Firm Foam pad more often.

  • Have a crisply printed, glossy label on the top of the pad that is easier to read and that will not fade or chip off!

  • Come with color name labels in all four languages (English, Spanish, French, and German)–just choose your language, peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification!

  • Use the same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist!

  • Are available in all colors, including our exclusive In Colors!

Please note: Five ink colors have undergone formula changes to improve functionality and color stability with the new firm foam pads. These colors are

  • Basic Black

  • Basic Gray

  • Marina Mist

  • Perfect Plum

  • Tempting Turquoise

It is not recommended that you use the previous ink refills for these 5 colors to replenish the pads when needed.     Susan

Get excited!  Better days are comin’….On June 1, you are going to be doing the happy dance!

Daisy Thanks

My Bible study is ending for the summer and I made cards for 4 other staffers with whom I share responsibilities…. I’ll only show 2 of the cards as they are all similar…..differing only in the choice of DSP and CS…..

  • Stamps:  Kindness Matters
  • Ink:  Versamark
  • Paper:  Beyond the Garden (retiring…one of my favorites),  Pacific Point and Whisper White CS
  • Accents:  White Organza ribbon, Neutrals button, and 1/8″ Taffeta ribbon (Regal Rose)
  • Tools:  Corner Rounder punch,  Daisies #2 die (retiring)

The only difference in this card was the different choice of CS (Wild Wasabi), the Filigree brad (also retiring), and the Scallop Dots ribbon (Melon Mambo).  I just love this paper and I especially love the Daisy  die ..Waaah!

There is a special place in my heart for the women who will receive these Thanks cards….we had a great year together!  It’s goodbye for the summer, but goodbye forever to some of the products listed above….be sure you’ve ordered the ones that have “captured” your heart!    Susan

Silhouettes for a Friend

Here is a card I made recently for a friend whose Father passed away after battling Cancer…..

I used the now retiring stamp set, Pocket Silhouettes #111672 and embossed the images with black embossing powder.  I framed them with the Oval punch and underneath is the Decorative Label.  The messages are from Petite Pairs (not retiring) and they are stamped on the Curly Label.  The DSP is Mocha Morning Specialty #122366 (retiring…not sure if any left).  Ribbon is 1/8″ Taffeta Black.

You can’t tell from the photo, but the images look so clear and sharp with the shiny black embossing….    Susan  ♥

What’s in the Box?

A very special box arrived at my house today…when I opened it and set it on the floor so I could check all the items…Ruby discovered the box!

“Hey Mom…what’s in the box?  Something for me?

“Oh No, Ruby…this box is for me, not you.”

“But Mom…I think I smell something for me in this box!”

“Oh No, Ruby…this is my pre-order from Stampin’ Up’s! new catalog… I can’t wait to look at everything…I’m so excited to see all the brand new stuff!  There’s nothing in this box for you.”

“This is so disappointing….Why didn’t you order something for me?  Look!  I think I see something interesting!”

Well, there was a lot to see and all of it very interesting…

Stampin’ Up’s! new catalog is beautiful and full of new choices for stampin’ the night away…or the day!

Speaking of choices….are you aware that this is the perfect time for you to get the new Starter Kit?….If you act now, you can not only get the $125.00 kit for $99.00, but you will also have the option to choose from the pre-order list before the new catalog is revealed to customers on June 1! …. Check out the info on Join My Group and then you can click over to the info on the Starter kit!                 Susan

Retirement Thoughts

For those of you who don’t know me personally…I just retired from my 35 year career as a nurse…I was recently  working as a supervisor of a couple of teams of Homecare nurses (RN’s and LVN’s)…..a wonderful and dedicated group of men and women…I will miss them.  I also worked with an outstanding group of three other supervisors.  I want to show you the lovely basket bouquet of flowers they gave me……

The flowers are so beautiful…and don’t you love the butterflies?

Here is a picture of my dear Ruby in the background, admiring the flowers, but very happy I will be spending time at home with her…she knows this means longer walks and more hugs!

Coaster Crafts

Here are a couple of  tile  (Travertine)  coasters that I made recently….so easy and make wonderful gifts:

I stamped the tile with Stazon Black ink…the set is, of course, Lovely as a Tree (not retiring!) ….and the birds are from Elementary Elegance (SAB).  The tile needs to be heat-treated by placing it in the oven at 325 degrees for 20 min. or just use your heat tool to set the ink.   Then I sprayed the surface and sides with a Polyacrylic finishing spray from Michael’s.

This tile shows the sheen from the spray a bit better than the first photo….again, the ink is Black Stazon….the stamp set is
Delicate Doilies (#122592clear) and the middle doily was brushed with Stampin’ Pastels (#120962….retiring) before the spray was applied.             Susan   ♥

Some stampers/crafters use the smooth tiles, which are also pretty…I happen to like the distressed look of these Travertine tiles!
